Legal Paternity Test vs. Home Paternity Test |
It is very important to understand the differences in legal standing and reporting for accredited lab versus self-collection paternity results. When making your decision please consider carefully the intended use of the paternity testing results. Regardless of whether you choose a legally admissible paternity test or a home paternity test.... once the specimen is submitted to our lab, the testing is performed in the same manner. Our tests are 100 times more discriminating than the industry standard. Typical positive results exceed 99.99%. We will complete up to 19 markers to assure you reliable results. Most labs run only one with less than 10 markers, greatly increasing the chance for inaccurate results.

| Legally Admissible Collection for Paternity Testing | |
Specimen collection is performed by authorized professionals of DNA People Diagnostics . This type of collection must include verifiable proof of identity of all parties. Collections are available in medical facilities nationwide and in-home in many locations.
| Self-Collection Test for Paternity Testing | |
This test is performed at home. Individuals use a home DNA collection kit for cheek (buccal) swabs and easy-to-follow directions. Tested individuals rub swabs on the inside of their cheek, place them in labeled envelopes, and return the samples in the package provided. Those swabs contain the DNA necessary for testing.

LEGAL REASONS: |
| Legally Admissible Collection for Paternity Testing | |
| Useful
for all legal purposes including cases involving child custody and support,
social security issues, insurance, military, adoption, inheritance, tribal
and immigration rights and benefits. |
| Self-Collection for Paternity Testing | |
Even though our labs are certified and AABB accredited, the results of a home test are not useful for legal purposes because it is not possible to verify who has been tested.

| REPORTING PATERNITY TEST RESULTS: | |
